Two visual expression – one conversation Steffensen / Boger

The exhibition will focus on the meeting between two different visual expressions and a dialogue between two artists.
Jorunn Steffensen and Runa Boger work individually within a common specialization where abstraction and colors are central. Steffensen works with painting and drawing. Boger works with textile collage and dyeing techniques. Their imagery is very different, and they work with contrasting materials and methods.
The starting point for our collaboration is a common education from SHKS (Art and Craft School in Oslo) in the 1970s, where they both studied textile art.
The artistry has gradually developed into immersion and experimentation in material and methods / techniques with emphasis on the formal challenges of imagery. The exhibition will be installed as a site-specific installation where color and surface are load-bearing elements.
