In the exhibition Black & White, Boger shows a series of geometric images in a small format called “Variables”. The Variables have no figurative pegs to hang the experience of the work on. The Variables are variations on simple constructions of the picture surface with horizontal, vertical and diagonal strips of wool and other textile qualities. A basic abstract composition is repeated with small shifts in each image. It’s about the possibilities of color and how simple stripes with small changes create different expressions.
In connection with the exhibition at SOFT gallery, Boger has published a book about her own artistry.
The book will be for sale in the gallery throughout the exhibition period. The launch is marked with an artist conversation between Boger and art historian and curator Monica Holmen on Saturday 6 January at 13 – 14.
